Job Details:
At the direction of the Coding Supervisor, the Coding lead will provide direct support to coding staff by way of training, executing the plan for the distribution of daily work and completing initial coder reviews.
1. Train/mentor new coding staff in the process/workflow/systems based on clinical specialty (i.e. electronic record, business system, denials management)
2. Respond to daily coding/process questions from coding staff
3. Report potential coder education needs to supervisor
4. Ensure daily workflow is assigned and redirect work as outlined by supervisor
5. Daily production coding to support cross coverage needs which may be due to vacancies, absences or increase in volume
6. Subject matter expert in assigned coding area
7. Perform initial coder quality validation reviews.
8. Timely reporting of quality validation reviews to the Sr. Quality Analyst
Minimum
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
3 years multi-specialty coding experience
Preferred: coding review experience
Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
Coding Certification from AAPC or AHIMAEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
