Job Description Job Summary
Responsible for assisting and/or coordinating the design, installation, commissioning, startup and validation of all assigned new capital improvement projects. Primary system administrator and quality system interface for Siemens Apogee automated Building Management System (BMS).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead, plan, organize and coordinate the execution of projects from design through construction, commissioning, start-up and validation, ensuring that projects run on schedule, are cost effective and meet organizational objectives.
Communicate and interact with contractors and ensure that work is performed safely and meets contractual specifications, scheduling and financial requirements. Communicate status of projects to applicable project team.
Ensure that assigned projects conform to good engineering practices and that all applicable commissioning, validation, GLP and GMP requirements are met or exceeded in accordance with project objectives.
Act as system administrator for the BMS system and act as subject matter expert regarding technical issues
Develop and coordinate training for community of BMS users
Provide leadership and hand on support, as needed, to identify, contain, correct and close all quality system deficiencies related to the BMS.
Develop and implement project(s) as appropriate to maintain the BMS system throughout the component and software lifecycle.
Provide input during regulatory inspections of BMS and relevant projects as needed
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes. Emulates the Novo Nordisk Way in all activities and assignments.
Education/Special Training Required
Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience in facility systems engineering
Qualifications/Work Experience Required
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in facility/utility design and construction in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries
Ability to read and understand architectural drawing and system P&ID'S
Strong communications skills
Minimum five (5) years' experience with Siemens Apogee software and system administration
Working knowledge of automated systems controls desirable
Able to work at desk or computer station for extended periods (approximately 4 hours)
