Job Requirements:
NH RN License or Compact License (Proof of State Residency Required) BLS Minimum of 1.
5 years of recent equivalent experience Experience on a fast pace medical surgical unit preferably with Level I Trauma center experience but serval years at a Level II Trauma center is acceptable Chest tubes, tubes, drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone, lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients, trachs/laryngectomies, telemetry, complex wounds, central lines- care and maintenance and blood draws Additional Information:
This job is located at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, a 36 bed adult surgical unit that cares primarily for trauma patients and acute care surgical patients.
This unit does have 2 negative pressure rooms that can serve our COVID population.
This is a very busy unit where rehabilitating and supporting our patients needs is our highest priority.
The most common diagnosis on the unit; Traumas including:
spinal cord injuries(new quadriplegics and paraplegics), traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic injuries occurring as a result of a trauma.
Acute Care Surgical diagnosis:
hernia repair, small bowel obstructions, appendectomy, cholecystectomy.
